The Line Up

My last post, from March 30th (has it been two weeks already?) provided the dates and places where you can find Three Stone Steps LIVE! And, a new show has been added to our itinerant storefront line-up.

Here's what our weekend looks like:

Saturday, it's EcoFest in Druid Hill Park, noon to six. It's the west side of the park, by the zoo.

(By the way, on Saturday we're marking down, way down, our repurposed mosquito netting and some of our eco-amazing abaca bags. These new prices will be online with the new site--which I hope is up soon!--so don't fret if you're not in Baltimore.) But, if you're in the area, it would be great if you could stop by, even if just to say hello. This will be Three Stone Steps' third Baltimore EcoFest. I know it sounds sort of auspicious, but I just want to let you know that the event is fun with a capital "F." And, it's also free.

And, this just in: We decided to pitch our tent (quite literally, in fact) at the Hightlandtown Wine Festival. Ok. I've never been before, but my guess is that it's also an f.u.n. event. (Ok, it's not a free event. In fact, it's $25, but for that you get wine tastes and other great goodies.)

And, hope you have a great and F-U-N weekend, whatever you do.

Pardon our dust (and other updates)

Three Stone Steps' website is getting a long, long, long overdue overhaul. In the meantime, new items, and some old favorites have been moved to our page over at World of Good. You can, however, still shop at the Three Stone Steps site, but with World of Good, there's a bit more variety.

And, it's spring of sorts here in Baltimore. (Although I think this year, the entire lion/lamb thing has been reversed) and we're lining up shows.

We should be getting to Eastern Market on DC's Capitol Hill sometime in April.

And, definite shows are below:

April 17 kicks off Three Stone Steps' season of selling our sustainable, fair trade, and recycled bags and other accessories at the EcoFest in Baltimore, from noon to 6 at Druid Hill Park.

May 1st (for May Day) you can find us at the relatively new Fenton Street Market, outside DC, in Silver Spring, from 9 until 3.

On May 2, and always much anticipated, the Baltimore Bazaar at the wonderful JFX farmers' market kicks off. This year, the market starts early, at 7am, giving everyone an extra hour, and giving early risers a reason to rise even earlier.

Just in time for Mother's Day gift giving, and Spring planting we hope you'll come visit us at Cylburn Arboretum Market Day in Northwest Baltimore on May 8, from 8 until 2. (Just a note, the serious gardeners get there very early!)

And, rounding out the merry month of May, Three Stone Steps will be Hometown Holidays' Green Festival in the Rockville Town Center on May 29 and 30 from 1 until 9.

We're delighted to be out and about in the area. Hope to see you at one of these events, or online soon.

An early Happy New Year

Some updates from Three Stone Steps for the end of the year and the decade:

Starting early next year, the 10th to be exact, I'll be on the road to meet with our existing fair trade producers in Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. I'll also be on the lookout for great new unique, functional, and eco-friendly accessories. Please stay tuned. I think there will be great new items in store.

During that time, we will not be processing orders, so if you have your heart set on something, best to order it as soon as possible. We'll be back to processing orders by the third week in February.

If I'm not updating this blog, please follow me on Twitter, @threestonesteps, or on www.threestonesteps.com's Facebook fan page.

We're thinking of beginning a dedicated travel blog--ok. I realize that I have trouble keeping this one updated, so I can't imagine how I'll deal with two of 'em!-- but will definitely let you know if that happens.

So, in the meantime, Happy New Year! I'll be back here soon.

About a week to go for online shopping

Here we are again. It's time for holiday shopping. Of course, here at Three Stone Steps, we hope you shop online with us, but if you don't, of course we hope you shop locally at places that carry sustainable and fair trade merchandise.

I wrote a little post about where to shop in your pajamas over on another site, where I'm the Baltimore Green Culture "Examiner.

As for Three Stone Steps, you still have about a week to shop and, if you're in the U.S., get your items shipped in from USPS Priority Mail.

Let me know if you want something giftwrapped and what you'd like written on a gift card.
